1944 -Dublon Island (D-Day In Europe)

On 6 June 44, when the Normandy Landings (code-named Operation Neptune) were underway, Leo Carter and his crew, then operating from Momote Airfield on Los Negros in the Admiralty Islands, were between missions against Dublon Island.

They had hit the island on 3 June 44 and would do so again on 8 June 44, which were the 44th and 45th of his 48 missions.
